By Mark Ravenhill
The play by British playwright Mark Ravenhill was staged for the first time in Georgia without a director. Supporting the initiatives of independent artists has become crucial in the current crisis. Due to that Theater Atoneli fully backed the idea of the young artists’ project – all the participants in the play are part-time artists.
It is important to note that the play itself portrays independent artists; Author examines their abilities and aspirations in modern socio-cultural context.
“Pool (No Water)” is both written with a classical structure and post-dramatic aesthetics, The play is often harshly criticized by the critics and even contains the characteristics of a “brutal theater”.
The play premiered in an abandoned reservoir, in Mtatsminda Park.
