“North Sea, Texas” to some extent tries to talk to the audience on what is happening HERE and NOW. The play is written in a mixed structure – it has a story development characteristic for a classical play, with post-dramatic elements. “North Sea, Texas” is an anti and new version of already existing works, part of the text is a direct quote from William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and there are other influences as well, for instance, “The Celebration” by Thomas Vinterberg, the classic example of “Dogme 95”. The play is a critique of the family institution, patriarchy and dogmas – a modernized version of stories or works that are old, existing and buried in people’s memory. “North Sea, Texas” does not avoid the fact that in today’s reality, technology and social networks are necessary for self-expression and socialization, especially the most popular social network of recent times, which is “TikTok”. The characters act and behave as the rest of us.
